Hey everyone how are y’all doing? I had a great time at the Sylvan Beach Music Festival Saturday. The weather was beautiful the food was great and the bands were awesome. I met this young lady who was a hard-core Rick Treviño fan. She was telling me about all of the shows she had been to over the years and couldn’t stop talking about him. I had to take her picture standing in front of the stage while he was playing.

After Rick was through playing they started the annual beauty pageant and when they announced the winner, I saw her (the die hard Rick Trevino fan) jump up and start screaming and crying. It turns out her daughter was in the pageant and won!. She was so busy telling me about Rick she didn’t even mention her daughter was in the pageant. What an awesome day it must’ve been for her! I also met these two young ladies who were equally as passionate about Parker McCollum they had driven to Sylvan Beach all the way from Dallas. They were telling me they do road trips all of the time and they were clearly having a great time.

While I personally enjoyed all of the shows, Cory Morrow was my particular favorite of the evening. He always puts on a very entertaining show. I hope y’all had a great weekend as well! I encourage everyone to get out and support all of the awesome live music coming out of Austin and I hope to see y’all down the road at one of the next shows.
Overall, the Sylvan Beach Festival turned out to be a fantastic experience! There was great food, a small but sufficient sized carnival, plenty of vendors and ice cold beer sponsors including the MillerCoors family of Miller Light, Coors Light, Dos Equis and a newer concept called Twisted Tea which was quite refreshing.
For those of you in the Houston, Texas area, I just wanted to let you know that Randy Rogers will be doing an in-store appearance promoting his new LP album April 29 at Cactus Records in Houston starting at 5:30 PM. It’s always a lot of fun to go to these things. You meet a lot of like-minded people and you get to meet and greet the artist as well. I will be there for sure hope y’all can make it. This new album Hellbent is really good. Have an awesome finish to your weekend!
Today at noon, Randy Rogers will be at Chief Records in Fort Worth doing a short acoustical set and a record signing. Then at 5PM he will be at Goode Records In Dallas doing a short acoustical set followed by a record signing. He will also be doing a short acoustical set at the Houston appearance.
On a sad note Geoffrey Hill, guitar and vocals for Randy Rogers, lost his father this past week. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I’m sure it was a great loss for the entire band.
He’s a great singer, a great harmony singer. Most of our sound as a band is because of Geoffrey and his unique vocals and the way he blends his vocals with my vocals.” – Randy Rogers
